Twin Bridges Waste & Recycling, Halfmoon, New York, recently commissioned a Green Machine residential single-stream and commercial dry waste recycling system. This fully automated recycling plant features seven Green Screens, seven patented hyperspectral Green Eye optical sorters and coming soon a Green Machine i-BOT robotic sorter, Green Machine’s latest technological advancement.
“Our mission was to build a multiuse recycling plant that produces the country’s cleanest end product and features the latest of Green Machine’s technologies,” says Scott Earl, owner of Twin Bridges Waste & Recycling.
Twin Bridges is focused on environmental integrity with this facility operating off the grid using clean-burn natural gas generators and electric vehicles, which benefits the surrounding area by producing less noise, harmful pollutants and odor.
Not only does this system make its neighbors happy, but Twin Bridges’ brokers also can’t stop singing their praises.
“Twin Bridges produces the cleanest end product of any plant we service. Secondary markets indicate that our No. 58 news export-grade mix is the cleanest they’ve seen generated by any MRF,” says Nate Kelman, Twin Bridges’ material broker and owner of Kelman Enterprise. “The MRF offers unlimited flexibility which allows us to hone in on niche consumer mill direct markets.”
“We wanted to prove that today’s technologies are capable of generating ultra-clean material grades,” Earl says. “Our Green Eyes are running high tonnages and still produce a super clean product. Our system can process single stream, commercial mixed waste, and commingled containers simultaneously, all while maintaining higher paying market specs.”
Green Machine is looking to add its new line of Green Machine i-BOT robotic sorters to Twin Bridges’ system.
“We can’t wait to deploy our newly developed i-BOT robotic sorters in key areas of the plant to further enhance overall clean pick rates and improve efficiencies,” says John Green, owner of Green Machine. “Scott’s ‘Flight to Quality’ initiative challenged our company at every level to develop a recycling system with the technology to meet environmental and market standards.”
